The fifth edition of Ibadan's 'DJ Tools' series comes bursting with more high quality cuts, essential for any international DJ's set.
NYC's second (only to MAW) best tag team is back for another round of sure fire essential 4x4 beats. Jerome Sydenham and Dennis Ferrer are responsible for a multiple of underground international House hits. An Ibadan 12" is once again the appropriate recipient of two gems from the duo; as well as a third track from Zero Duma.
Shuffling beats make up the basis of, 'Road To Calabar', woven together with a layer of jittering hi-hats sprinkled on top. Per usual an authentic and original pad melody is strewn delicately above the beats, which coupled with the punching bass line, have this one - as most of their track - hitting the bulls eye of quality.
If melodic pads aren’t your thing, then the boys have whipped up a slimmer and trimmer version of, 'Road To Calabar', that you can just fling right in to the mix via the aforementioned shuffling beats.
Slam Mode's engineer, Wayne Gardiner and Matt Moran are, Zero Duma. While Ferrer and Sydenham have put together some sophisticated Tech-House, these boys go straight for post early Detroit jacking Techno, with 'Eargasms'.
