One of Jerome Sydenham’s live mixes caught raw and un-cut from one of Japan's premier dance music venues.
Although 90 percent of today's DJ mixes are done with the aid of technological tools ensuring that every mix is tight, every bass line comes in on time and all tracks flow in key from one to another, people still go out to club and hear DJs who, for the most part, don't really plan out their mixes, but seemingly create unforgettable vibes in the club. So why is it then that there are not more mixes of live material? It could be do to the fact that when one is totally sober and sitting, perhaps in a car, the small nuances that were in the club "part of the vibe" become huge blotches of botched mixes and less than perfect beat matching. Only a few DJs can rock a crowd while nailing down the subtleties for keeping the "DJ police" at bay. Jerome Sydenham has done that with, 'Space Lab Yellow Jerome Sydenham Live Vol. 1' record live in Japan. A tasteful blend of relevant tracks exquisitely blended and meshed with the best in House and Techno from across the spectrum and of course, Jerome's Ibadan record label.
