Ten City’s 'Nothing Changed' finally sees the light of day!

Byron Burke, Herb Lawson and Byron Stingily's super Deep House group Ten City were the most prolific recording artists of Ibadan records at its dawn. 'Nothing's Changed' was produced by the trio along with Chicago House legend Marshall Jefferson.

"Nothing's changed, things are the same. Going in circles, it's just different names," chant the back-up singers, as Byron's voice leads the way. A spine tingling string slides its way in and out of the rhythms laid down by the myriad of musicians, which complete this with a golden seal.

'Nothing's Changed (Instrumental)', uses a hefty portion of the original vocal, but it is set back a few minutes in the mix, allowing the Brazilian percussive elements space to breath and work their way into the mix.

The third version is the 'Acroostic Mix'. The title pretty much wraps it up more or less. Acoustic guitars are the focus along with an extended intro with soft flowing high hats and those absolutely dreamy strings.

Nothing's Changed (Rhumba Dub Mix)' reduces the track to bare essentials: A low slung kick and a live percussion via a live bongos workout. A little taste of the vocal reveals itself as a reminder of the tracks origins.

A seminal release, from a seminal group, that helped to create a lifeblood and new era in House music.
